Day 19, 20, 21: Be a Weekend Warrior!

The Computer Butt Challenge continues. While my goal today was to do a squat challenge and kick butt, a migraine has decided to land behind my left eye, so instead I'm typing this with one eye open – about to head to darkness. (RATS!)

For those of you who didn't get in the amount of exercise that you wanted to this week, the weekend is here. That doesn't mean sloughing off. It means time for outdoor fun, cleaning, yard-work, biking, games of tag in the yard, etc. Don't be afraid to get dirty. You'll burn plenty of calories that way. 🙂

In lieu of me motivating you, I'll re- post the 10 minute ab workout that that'll knock your socks off.

Hopefully I'll check in tomorrow with more progress.

    Had one giggle at your expense, Nicole. “… Don’t be afraid to get dirty. You’ll burn plenty of calories that way.” I didn’t know dirt burned calories. 😉

    Okay, time to share some thoughts about exercise. Sometimes I get overwhelmed thinking about doing a dozen or so exercises. Sometimes, I must admit, that I get so overwhelmed that I just skip the whole thing. Yup. There is my shameful admission.

    HOWEVER, I’m here to say that if I had to whittle down an exercise program to just 4 exercises, here are the ones I’d do:

    The ball pass – feet to hands overhead and back.
    The heel push – heels on ball, butt up, push, back.
    Overhead Tricep extensions with weights.
    Squats.

    On days when I’m struggling just completing a thought, it’s nice to have a simple workout that packs a real punch.

    I’ll go further to say that if I could do only ONE exercise it would be the ball pass. That is a GREAT overall exercise. It gets the heart pounding, works the upper abs, lower abs, obliques, legs, arms, and even strengthens the lower back (keep lower back pushed into floor).

    Honestly, if you are having one of those days when your exercise routine is slipping away, just grab that floor ball and do that ONE exercise even if you do nothing else. I guarantee you will feel it!

    Oh, man… I know how that feels. I’m so sorry…

    Every time I get a migraine, I do the following (in this order):

    1. Take 2 excedrin (with a full bottle of water).
    2. Drink a diet coke (or something with caffeine).
    3. Curl up in a dark, warm place and take a nap.

    Kicks it every time. Feel better.

      In addition to the above, I normally smell and drink peppermint and spearmint teas – which help for some reason.

      I am. Thank you, sweetie. I was hurting Thursday and Friday. Not terribly (it wasn’t my worst migraine ever) – but definitely enough to not want to jump up and down at all considering how nauseous I was! lol.

    Well, guys. I did a lot of errands. A lot of “on my feet” time this weekend and I did go on a long walk with mom yesterday, but no Angie time. (Boo! I missed Angie.)

    So, today I have a date with Ang – and it is my mission to do it. 😀

    Tornado warnings gave me the excuse to climb back into bed for a bit. 😉

    Looks like just rain, no tornado for us. Guess I can’t stay in bed all day.
