Day 7: Fat Loss Quickie
Welcome to Day 7 of the Lose Belly Fat Challenge. (<– If you’re just joining us, click on the link to see what this is all about and what it has to do with working from home. Please join us. It’s not too late. We’ll be repeating the same exercises starting Monday, so you aren’t behind at all.)
This is for Mark and the others who didn't manage to get their workouts in last week. It's OK! This next week is a fresh start. No one is perfect. As long as you're human, you're flawed – just like the other nearly 7 billion of us on this planet.
This week will be better than last. Start on Monday with us tomorrow and we'll keep on you to make sure you're able to get your workouts in.
Here's what Scott had to say about when he and his wife started to workout again after he'd gained 45 lbs a few years back.
Quote from Home Office Fat Loss Scott:
The furthest thing from our minds when we faced a setback was, “Here we go again. Every time I start making progress, I always find a way to sabotage myself.” That is a self-limiting belief that will hold you back from ever achieving your goal.
When we were faced with these challenges and setbacks, it was never the end of the world. We used these challenges to become better and grow.
Setbacks and challenges are what you make of them.
You can either view them as this enormous impenetrable wall, or you can view it as an opportunity to improve yourself and explore new territory.
If you’re not signed up for the Fat Loss Quickie program, you can join us. We'll support you all the way!
Sign up now and join in on Monday doing the SAME exercises as we are, and join in the challenge without being behind.
We welcome you with open (but sweaty) arms.

Then, post in the comments including your Twitter ID if you're on Twitter so I can remind you to check in daily.
Let's find 10 minutes every day to get healthier so we can enjoy the LIFESTYLE that we're working towards.
((hugs)) to all.

September 6, 2009 at 12:21 pmGood morning all! And I want to emphasize GOOD morning!
I woke up rather chipper this morning, partly due to the fact that I slept like a log FOR AN ENTIRE NIGHT! Yup, 8 hours straight. 😉
At this age, I rarely if ever sleep all night long. I’ve had the 50+ woman’s “waking up at 3:00 a.m.” nightly blues for some years now. If you haven’t experienced this, you are most likely not a woman of 50+ years. Although, it is not exclusively reserved for us.
All this great FatLossQuickie exercise in my office, plus a good bike ride yesterday, has culminated in a wonderful turnabout in my sleeping habits.
I want to say a special Thank You to Nicole and Scott for my ability to actually get a good night’s rest. 🙂 AND… during a full moon cycle even! How amazing is that!
Of course, when I got out of bed, I was walking a bit gingerly ’cause my thighs were screaming… but that’s all good.
This has certainly been a benefit that I wasn’t expecting and that I will report to my sisters-in-years. If your Moms, Grandmas, Aunties, Sisters, or other female friends and family “of a certain age” are experiencing the 3:00 a.m. waking cycle, do them a favor and send them a link to Nicole’s blog, and especially this comment. They’ll thank you… trust this ol’woman!
Anybody else sleeping better?

September 7, 2009 at 5:52 amReally glad to hear that you had a great night sleep. Exercise and eating healthy natural foods has a very positive impact on sleep.
During my 10 plus years as a personal trainer most of my clients were women between the ages of 45 and 60. They were experiencing the same 3am sleep cycle as you. The healthy lifestyle definitely had a positive impact on their sleep too.

September 6, 2009 at 9:50 pmOk. I know you guys are going to spank me for this. I didn’t do all of the day 2 workout yesterday. I did 5 minutes of each video after the alternative leg exercises. I had a lot of things to do today and I didn’t get to do my workout until after 10.
I went back today and did day 2 workout again today and I managed to do all of the first one and up to 9 minutes of the cardio. I am having a major problem with the side curls. A. I am having trouble figuring out how to get down on the ball correctly and B. I can’t do it at all on my left side. I tried several times just to be sure but I kept landing on the floor. Any suggestions.
I was soaked when I got finished. Oddly I am noticing that my right knee is hurting worse and is a lot more sore than my left (left is the one I shattered.) I am noticing a good kind of soreness in my abs and my upper thighs like this is working really well.
Mom, I have noticed I am sleeping hard too. I have had insomnia for years and have always been bad about being up until 3 in the morning or later and now I am getting really sleepy before midnight. I don’t think I’ve slept 6 or 7 hours a night in years.
Hope you guys have a great Labor Day.
Erica

September 7, 2009 at 6:02 amHey Erica, congrats on performing the workouts. No need to spank you yet 😉 Even doing just 5 minutes of the quickie workout and cardio is helping you create this new healthy habit.
You could have let your inner voice convince you to put it off to tomorrow, but you took a positive step forward.
You may be over compensating with your good knee. Keep me posted on it.
The side crunch is a tricky one 😉 I’ll get a video together for you and show you the easiest way to do it. It takes a little practice.
