Day 11: Computer Butt, Go Away!
Today is Day 11 of the Home Office Computer Butt Challenge. (<– If you’re just joining us, click to check it out. It’s not too late to join us in the fun. We’ll be repeating the same exercises every week this month, so you aren’t behind.)
I love this video from Mike Filsaime that absolutely endorses the importance of what we're doing here.
In fact, let's post our actual goals with a date.
I WILL fit into my favorite pair of jeans by NAMS which is end of January.
What's your goal? Post it below so we can cheer you on!
A BIG warm and sweaty welcome to David Perdew (who is a super guy and is the one who puts on NAMS – it's his event!) and Kevin “Mr. eBay” Johnson (who is a brilliant marketer and sweetheart, too). Both of them will be at NAMS (obviously David will be, and Kevin will be, too.)
Also, if you're following along, be sure to swing by Arika's blog for some link love: Sexy Abs Challenge
If you're not signed up yet, join us by clicking on this graphic. Heck, it's $20 and you'll have access to your quickie workouts, a personal trainer who you can ask questions here, plus my community cheering you on.
Don't be shy. We're just like you!
And, to all those who have accepted the challenge and jumped in, post your updates below.
Let's find 10 minutes every day to get healthier so we can enjoy the LIFESTYLE that we're working towards.
((hugs)) to all.

September 10, 2009 at 8:17 amMy goal is to fit into those jeans I love by the time we go to Disney to celebrate oldest son coming back from Iraq. I did a count of the weeks I have and it’s 13! I need to get to work!
Scott Tousignant - Fat Loss Quickie
September 10, 2009 at 8:32 amWow… that’s a powerful motivator Judi. I’m sure that your son will be very proud of you… just as we are proud of him for his dedication to FREEDOM.
Your son is fighting for FREEDOM and it’s important to truly live a free lifestyle where we are not trapped in a prison of our own making… which is an unhealthy body.
Health is freedom.
Now Judi… you’ve got an advantage here. It’s not easy to visualize yourself in skinny jeans and put a lot of emotion behind it… but when you have an event like this… it sure can tap into a lot of emotions and make that visual really powerful.
Think of how great you will feel and look as you are struttin your stuff in Disney with your sons arms wrapped around you. That’s powerful!
Angela Wills
September 10, 2009 at 1:07 pmThat’s an awesome goal Judi. You can do it 🙂
Judi
September 10, 2009 at 2:14 pmThanks so much guys. I like doing the workouts, well because they are fun and the great support is phenomenal!

September 10, 2009 at 3:36 pmHey Judi,
I think you have a great goal. I think you will feel better and have more energy when you are at Disney (crazy workout in itself :).
Jonathan was telling me over the weekend that the workouts kind of reminded him of the circuit training they did while he was in the Marines. It would be pretty cool if you and your son could keep up your exercising together when he gets back. 🙂

September 10, 2009 at 8:27 amAccountability can play a tremendous role in successfully achieving your goals. All of you are proving it right now. If you were trying to lose your computer butt on your own… think of how much tougher it would be to stick with.
That’s a powerful message shared by Mike Filsaime. He’s been one of my mentors right from the start and has had a huge impact on my life.
That video clip is taken from my movie The Change Series, which comes as an awesome bonus with the Fat Loss Quickie Program. It’s all about creating a mindset for success.
It’s really great to see more guys hopping on board with this challenge. I think they realized that women were going to totally going to dominate the online world with all their new found energy, focus, and productivity.
In the next two days I will be unveiling the Fat Loss Quickie Transformation Contest that will blow your socks off.
It’s going to be the perfect motivator to help you fit into those skinny jeans for NAMS 3… and have your business totally rockin so you can share your successes at NAMS 3 as well.
I’m really excited about this contest and can’t wait to share it with you.
Any extra motivators along the way can have a tremendous impact on your success. It’s nice to be rewarded for your hard work 😉
I’m lovin Arika’s blog and McKlinky thing a ma jig 😉 Really cool idea!
Show her some love gang!
Angela Wills
September 10, 2009 at 1:05 pmHappen to be any tickets to NAMS in that awesome contest of yours?? hehe
Thank you for all you do Scott!

September 10, 2009 at 10:48 amOk you asked for it Nik! My goal is to be able to dance for hubby without tripping over something (don’t ask – told ya’ll I was clumsy) and without looking down and seeing the gifts our 3 wonderful children left me! 😉
In other words – I want SEXY MAMA ABS!
My date is before January 6th (the day I leave to meet up with you and the others for the SMTM cruise!)
Nicole
September 10, 2009 at 2:32 pmKeep it up, sexy mama!

September 10, 2009 at 8:58 amI just wanted to send a great big thank you to all of you who are following the Fat Loss Quickie program during the Computer Butt Challenge.
You have been giving me tremendous feedback and I want you to know that I truly value your thoughts and opinions.
The download options will be available later today
The print out workout sheets will be available today
Nicole gave me a great suggestion so you won’t have to go fishing through your email to find Monday’s workout when you are on Day 8, or Tuesdays workout when you are on day 16. When you visit Day 16 to get your motivational audio, there’ll also be a link to Tuesday’s workout videos.
More great feedback suggestions are going to be implemented this week.
You all ROCK! I value your friendship sooo much!
Arika Lewis
September 10, 2009 at 10:45 amHey Scott – I told hubby you were my personal trainer last night! LMBO
Seriously though I feel like you are the personal trainer for all of us because you don’t let working online take away the personal one-on-one feel of having someone right there with you.
Not to mention, you’re so receptive to feedback and are genuine in your want to make things better for your customers!
Kudos & Thank You from all of us!
Judi
September 10, 2009 at 2:27 pmI have to second that Arika. I have never had a personal trainer, but it does feel like I have one now. Scott, you offer a great personalized service!

September 10, 2009 at 2:32 pmditto.
And, I did listen to one of the motivational audios today.
I love ya, man!

September 10, 2009 at 11:28 amHey Everyone,
I thought I’d stop by and share my goals real quick. I have about 40-45 lbs I’d like to loose. We are having our Christmas pictures done at the end of October and I’d love to make that a milestone.
I like Angela’s idea of trying for about 3 lbs a week. That would put me right about my goal by Christmas. My ultimate goal is to loose the weight by my birthday in February.
A plus for me is that Jonathan is going to the Philippines for 6 weeks for his job. He is leaving the 7th of October so I think it will be a nice “surprise” for him to see my progress when he gets back.
Hope you guys have a great day.
Erica
Nicole
September 10, 2009 at 2:33 pm2-3 lbs a week is my ballpark, too. I’d be happy with that by Christmas, too, and it’s actually realistic.
Great goal! Keep us posted!
Scott Tousignant - Fat Loss Quickie
September 10, 2009 at 2:44 pmLove the goal and love the thought and vision of how excited you will be to show off the new… energized and leaner YOU when he returns.
I am incredibly proud of you Erica. You are setting a fine example for many people.
You ROCK!

September 10, 2009 at 12:58 pmOk I just chased 33 grade two’s around a provincial park for four hours in the hot sun and I’m TIRED.
Can I take a pass on my workout today? LOL. I’ll try to find the energy to do it, if not, I may end up doing Friday’s on Saturday again like I did last week. Seems like I’m liking having thursdays off.
Go Team Computer Butt!
Nicole
September 10, 2009 at 2:30 pmI’m thinkin’ that qualifies as a pass, especially when you make it up on Saturday! 😉
Scott Tousignant - Fat Loss Quickie
September 10, 2009 at 2:43 pmOh my… I can’t imagine the calories that you burned today. Pass granted. Report back tomorrow to let us know that it was only one day of rest.
Keep ROCK’n
The Mom
September 10, 2009 at 1:50 pmWhew! Just did today’s cardio… love those little side-steppie things! The squat-jump things are just plain silly, so I like ’em too!
Goals??? Yikes. It’s hard to define for me. Let’s see… I had an episode several years ago in which I had difficulty getting out of a boat and it devastated me thinking that I wouldn’t be able to sit on the floor and play with my grandkids, and get back up without help, if I didn’t do something quick. I started riding a bike routinely. That was life-changing.
Now, I still ride my bike, but I know for a fact that I need more weight-type exercises to build more strength and for bone health.
Goals now??? Besides just being stronger, which is critical as you get older… hmmm…
Okay, the thing that would make me go “yippee!” would be the day I walk by a store window or big mirror and see my reflection and I think, “Hey, that is no frumpy 50+ year old woman.” When I can say those words I know I will be fit and strong. I know I’ll be able to keep up with my grandkids, and that’s the reason I’m doing this work.
Don’t tear up now, Nicole. 😉
Kisses!
Thanks all for the opportunity to join in the fun!
Nicole
September 10, 2009 at 2:29 pmYou are an inspiration, mom!
Scott Tousignant - Fat Loss Quickie
September 10, 2009 at 2:41 pmI’m getting chills over here. Wow! I can feel how great that is going to feel for you… very powerful and inspiring. I hope that you have a flip video camera on you to record that moment when it happens.

September 10, 2009 at 1:58 pmPhew! Just finished the exercises for today – feelin’ energized! My goal is to drop a half a pound every week for the next 52 weeks (the lead up to my wedding day!). I can do it!! 🙂
Nicole
September 10, 2009 at 2:28 pmLOVE your goal! Can’t wait to see the pics of your happy & healthy self on your wedding day.
Nicole
September 10, 2009 at 2:28 pmThat is… unless I’m invited. 😀
Ronnie Nijmeh
September 10, 2009 at 6:18 pmLOL! You are a huge inspiration!! You don’t mind coming to Canada, eh? 😉
Scott Tousignant - Fat Loss Quickie
September 10, 2009 at 2:39 pmGreat goal and very achievable… Good news is… I get to hold you accountable for the next 52 weeks… woo hoo!
Ronnie Nijmeh
September 10, 2009 at 6:16 pmYikers, but accountability is good, even if only a bit daunting! 🙂
LaTara Ham-Ying
September 10, 2009 at 3:19 pmMy goals go beyond this challenge because this chick has some weight to loss to avoid some serious health issues.
I don’t have specific goals. I thought I did but I do know that my main goal is to just live each day with health in mind.
As far as exercise go I have a goal of doing something everyday be it Scott’s workouts, Sharon Mann or Gilad on FitTv (been working out with those shows since June), stretching, or riding the bike. I also want to get in no less than 50 situps per day. I feel like if I can do a 100 squats then I can do 50 situps
As far as eating I am working towards a 60/40 raw/cooked food day. Pretty easy when I drink a huge green smoothie almost daily and a lot o but hard when your momma cooks oxtails or turkey meatloaf 🙂 I guess that leads me to another goal of learning to stay focused on the end result.
My other goal is to run a two to three mile stretch.
Ok, so I guess I do have some specific goals huh 😉
Scott Tousignant - Fat Loss Quickie
September 10, 2009 at 4:13 pmwow… I’d say those are some specific goals 😉
First of all, I really love the goal of having health on your mind each day and taking action toward improving it…
I totally recommend focusing on the simplest goal of becoming better today than you were yesterday and better tomorrow than today.
One suggestion for you. Sit-Ups are not the best exercise. I’d recommend the 1-Dumbbell Twist, 2-Dumbbell Twist, plank, heel slides, or bicycle kicks.
Sit-Ups can do more harm than good. If you are going to do them… do them on the ball like I teach.
LaTara Ham-Ying
September 10, 2009 at 4:39 pmLoL, Actually Scott that is one thing I have learned about sit-ups…they are more effective when you are doing them in the ways you suggested. I love doing planks and bicycle kicks 🙂
Like Arika, you are like my very own personal trainer.
Nicole
September 10, 2009 at 4:42 pmThose SLOW bicycle kicks kick my butt! 😀
I can do crunches all day long, but those things? Well, the bicycle kicks work. That’s all I’m saying! lol.
Scott Tousignant - Fat Loss Quickie
September 10, 2009 at 4:45 pmYour comments mean the world to me. Hearing you, Arika, and Judi say that it feels like I’m your very own personal trainer really makes my day…
That’s always been the intention of the Fat Loss Quickie Program… to make it so it’s like having me as your virtual personal trainer… basically 24/7
All of you have brought rays of sunshine into my days. Thank you so very much.
Nicole
September 10, 2009 at 2:27 pmSweaty and stinky here. Yowza!
Can’t wait for those squats tomorrow… lol.
Scott Tousignant - Fat Loss Quickie
September 10, 2009 at 2:46 pmI believe that I saw another male join in on the Computer Butt Challenge fun. Can’t wait to see him join the conversation here.
Kevin "Mr Ebay" Johnson
September 10, 2009 at 7:00 pmNicole and Scott,
Did my Quickie Cardio this morning and went to the gym in the evening! I am determined to lose 12 pounds by January NAMS 3!
Nicole, I would love to do an interview with you on your podcast! You are so much FUN!!!
Scott, the videos sometimes stop and go on my laptop with a counterdown circle in the middle of the screen. Is there something wrong with my computer?
Also Scott, I am a diabetic. Should I be eating any particular kinds of food while trying to lose weight? I just signed up for the Nutri Systems Diabetic plan because of wanting to eat foods that have the carb count on them.
Thanks guys for a great program!
Kevin “Mr Ebay” Johnson
Thanks for such a cool program
Scott Tousignant - Fat Loss Quickie
September 10, 2009 at 7:08 pmHey Kevin… I expect the staff at your gym to say the same thing to you as they say to me when I used to workout there… “Hi Scott, bye Scott”. They were always blown away at how quickly I would get in and out of there and how myself and my clients always got better results than the people who spent hours in the gym.
Tech team is working on the video pausing issue. I’ve only got two more videos to upload to my server and you’ll have a download option so you can play the videos from the desktop.
Will be ready first thing in the morning.
I already uploaded the workout print out sheets.
I’ll be sending an announcement to all members tomorrow morning.
I can definitely guide you on some diabetic tips. I’ll check out the Nutri System Diabetic plan and give you my feedback.
Can’t wait to see you fit and energized at NAMS 3
Nicole
September 10, 2009 at 7:55 pmOf course I’d love to have you on my podcast. My gal, Tracy, schedules the shows for me so I’ll have her set you up. 🙂 Looking forward to it!
Also, don’t skip the Quickie Workouts thinking they’re too girlie. Just wait until you do the 100 squats! My hubby is still limping around. lol!
David Perdew
September 10, 2009 at 9:47 pmOkay! It’s my first day.
So here’s my goal. Actually, here’s the goal I said on Twitter today – “I want to be mistaken for Scott when I take my shirt off…”
Just kidding 🙂 Shirt off ain’t gonna happen…
Here’s my real goal – and it’s a big one! I weigh 217. I want to lose 30 pounds before NAMS 3 starts on Jan. 29.
That would be down to 187. If I do that, I’ll give everyone at NAMS a one year membership to my new Twitter Toolbox membership site launching this weekend.
If I DON’T do it, I’ll give everyone at NAMS a TWO year membership to my new Twitter Toolbox membership site launching this weekend.
So, there. I’ve committed.
Today, I went to the mall in Lynnwood, WA (remember, I live in Alabama) and bought a large flex ball so I could do Scott’s workouts and two gallons of water.
No, I wasn’t thirsty. I’m traveling. So, a gallon of water weighs 8.35 pounds. They’ll make nice dumbbells while I’m in the hotel.
And the flex ball will deflate and go in my bag (I hope) when I leave.
So, I’m off to do my first quickie.
Here we go…
dp
Nicole
September 11, 2009 at 7:25 amWow, David!
How’d it go? Amazing how a quickie can really get you sweaty, eh? 🙂
Not sure if you know this, but Scott recommends doing the two sessions at different times of day so that you can benefit twice from the metabolism spikes rather than just the one time.
I do the workouts in the morning and the cardio later in the day.
Your goals are awesome! I can’t wait to hug the “less squishy” you with the “less squishy” me in January.
YOU ROCK!
Lisa Marie Mary
September 11, 2009 at 10:39 amLove the squishy comment!!! haha!
Lisa Marie Mary
September 11, 2009 at 10:47 amHmm…goals. The one that comes to mind is quite unrealistic, really. LOL A few years ago I found a gorgeous purple suede dress that was in perfect condition at the Goodwill and it was only $12!!! But it was a size 12 – of which I am not. I bought it, anyway, thinking it’d be a great motivator to wear it one day for Christmas – and that it shall. But I’m pretty sure I shouldn’t go from an 18 to a 12 in just 3 months. Scott?
Substitute goal –> ahh, I have a good one! Last year, when I lost 40lbs, Uncle Don was SO EXCITED for me!! He would not stop pointing it out at all our family gatherings! And he would say it multiple times PER gathering! “Look at her, ya’ll – she really has lost a lot of weight!” on and on and on…. So my goal is to have Uncle Don go crazy on Christmas!! LOL I love it!!!!
