Day 9: Get Rid of Belly Fat with Us

Today is Day 9 of the Getting Rid of Belly Fat & Computer Butt Challenge. (<– If you’re just joining us, click here to see what this is all about and what it has to do with working from home. Please join us. It’s not too late. We’ll be repeating the same exercises every week this month, so you aren’t behind.)

Quote from Home Office Work Out Scott:

If you add up our total workout time during the first 12 weeks, we
spent less than 3 hours. Most people spend that much time watching
T.V. each night.

So don’t tell me that you don’t have time to workout.

If you're not signed up yet, join us by clicking here:

And, to all those who have accepted the challenge and jumped in, you'll notice that I didn't hunt you down on Twitter yesterday. 🙂 Hope you enjoyed your holiday.

However, rest-time is over. Get your butts back in gear and staaaaaaart swearing sweating! Post your updates below.

Let's find 10 minutes every day to get healthier so we can enjoy the LIFESTYLE that we're working towards.

((hugs)) to all.
Nicole

This morning we got up and I did get my workout in first thing. I remembered why I was pushing it off. Riley loves to watch PBS in the mornings while she colors and she also gets in the way. I grabbed my bluetooth headset I use while I’m transcribing so her noise wouldn’t bug me and my noise wouldn’t bug her. Another advantage that hadn’t occurred to me because I can hear better I don’t have to stop and look at the screen so much to see what is going on. I definitely cut the time between sets.
    Great start to the day.

Awesome Erica… and it was great to hear that you took your supplements too.

You’ll definitely fly through the routine much faster each week. I’m putting together a print out of the workouts so you can record your progress and just go from the sheet as a reminder of the exercises.

You’re doing fantastic. Keep up the great work!

    Phew! Day 2 – Week 2 Down.

I read a blog post the other day by Josh Spaulding and he said something that really hit with me. Something like he doesn’t like feeling WEAK.

It’s funny how you get used to feeling week but I know as we do these little by little we are getting stronger ladies and soon we’ll be the strongest pack of WAHMs around!

    Am I the first??? Cool.

Mornin’ everybody. About ready to do my Quickie.

Nicole mentions lifestyle… being older than some or most here, I can guarantee that these next weeks will not make or break your ultimate fitness goals. I know from experience that four weeks does not a program make… it takes a lifetime of getting off your butt and doing what you need to do to stay fit and healthy.

Whenever I’ve slacked off, and there have been MANY times, I’ve suffered the consequences – gaining weight, getting weak, and losing the joy I feel when I can keep up with my grandkids!

Losing the joy of being fit is the most devastating part of it for me. It’s what got me off my butt this time, again! The joy of sharing this Computer Butt challenge is a big part of my staying with the program.

If you miss a few days or don’t quite get through a workout like you’d like, it’s no big deal. You’ll be perfecting your fitness program for many years to come! Trust me…. 😀

    Take care all!

or Patti, whichever you prefer. 😉

Well said Patti. I refer to the times when you lose the joy of being fit as “Robbing yourself of the life that you deserve.”

Fitness is absolutely a journey of self exploration. You’ll learn what your body responds to best and you’ll learn what brings your body the most joy… and that’s not even taking the mental component into consideration.

It’s definitely a fun journey when you are surrounded by great people like we have here.

Holy Sweat! I just did the cardio (jump rope and mountain climbing) and OMG! THAT was fun!

I couldn’t QUITE (ha!) keep up with Scott during the mountain climbing, so I worked in some stretching exercises for lower back, sides, and hamstrings in the middle of the mountain climbing, but I made sure I didn’t slow down too much – in other words, some rather quick paced stretches. 🙂

Great fun! I had to use an “air jump-rope” since I don’t have one, but that still kept me going and I could feel it in my upper arms a little. Plus, I’m not sure a jump-rope is a good idea in my little office – too many knick knacks!

Thanks Scott… nice cardio this morning! 😉

And don’t forget Mark – our token WAHD! That is, of course, unless you count DA BOSS, Scott! Then we have two! LOL!!

Jump rope, eh? I’ve got one of those – may have to try that. I was gonna finish listening to Scott and Nicole and do my goofy, trip over myself aerobics in the office – so I’ll just mix ’em up.

Doing pretty awesome on food and logging it into Sparkpeople. Doing pretty well on water, too.

    Head fair to midland.

        How could I forget!

What’s Sparkpeople? I’ve used FitDay a bit on and off but I got tired of logging all my food and trying to keep track of everything.

LOL, thanks for remembering me, Nicole! 🙂

I did my workout today – a 30 minute brisk walk. I’ve got to say (embarrassingly)…

I’m STILL sore from Friday’s squats. You have no idea how much pain I’ve been in trying to go up and down stairs, in and out of cars, and trying to stand without falling! LOL!

HA! Oh, believe me… I can feel the pain… and I love it 😉

Glad to see that you’ve kept moving. The walk will help loosen you up.

I believe I remember you trying to pack 2 days of workouts in 1 day when you started right… hmmmm makes you realize just how powerful 10 minute workouts are… you don’t need to workout for an hour that’s for sure.

Hey guys. Had a poopy day and a baby-migraine with nausea & head spinning and all. Actually, it feels quite a bit like a hangover, but I didn’t get the joy of having anything to drink to earn it! 🙂 Since you reminded me to start taking my herbs again, it didn’t get full-blown, thank goodness – but I skipped my workouts and got a facial instead.

Figured since I did the extra 12 mile bike ride on Saturday, I could punt on this one without too much razzin’. 🙂

Congrats to all of you who got your workouts in today!!! I’m so proud of you all.

Hey Nicole, hope that you are feeling better today.

You’ve been putting in some great effort over the past 9 days. This one day will not set you back at all. Rest, recover, do whatever you need to get yourself better… but don’t feel guilty about this day off and don’t think that it’ll set you back.

It’s probably a great opportunity for your muscles to repair themselves since you really didn’t take much of a break yet.

It’s great to share our ups and downs because this journey is full of them and “That’s OK”

    You ROCK Nicole!
