Day 19: Who’s the Squattiest?
Today is Day 19 of the Home Office Fitness: Increase Productivity & Lose Belly Fat Challenge. (<– If you'd like to join us, please do. We’ll be repeating the same series of exercises for one more week, so you can jump right in.)
Today is also the … Team Computer Butt Contest: Who’s the Squattiest?!
Every Friday during the first month of the Fat Loss Quickie program, Scott has us do 100 squats for our cardio. And, it is h-a-r-d! Well, today, we're taking it up to a new level by challenging each other to see how many squats we can do. Here's the scoop.
The 3 squattiest persons (the three who do the most squats – no weights – from now until end of day) will win prizes! We’ll all check in throughout the day, but people can continue to beat you all day long so it’s in your best interest to do your squats early, so you have time to add to them later in the day if someone blows past you.
For example, if I post 125 squats at 10 in the morning and then Ronnie posts 140, then I can go do 25 more to beat him (and of course trash-talk him) and so it goes.
Here's what you'll win:
First Place-> Your Choice of the Three Prizes Below.
Second Place-> Your Choice of the Two Remaining Prizes.
Third Place->The Prize that's left.
Update: More prizes being added! 🙂
The three prizes are:
- $25 towards any purchase at www.EasyPLR.com
- Copy of Homepreneur Habits (one of my favorite reports!)
- A pair of Handerpants mailed to your home. You know you want them!
- Susanne's Freezer Cooking Guide (e-Book). Giving you less time in the kitchen, and more time to do your Fat Loss Quickie Workouts!
So, start squatting (deep squats – no cheating!) and continue to post your updates all day long. The cool thing is that everyone wins because we'll all be losing our computer butts together.
Free Taste of the 10 Minute Quickie Workout.
Just in case, if you missed my post yesterday, here's a Sample Workout from Scott. If you don't think 10 minutes will give you the results you are looking for, I challenge you to do this workout and say that you didn't feel enough BURN! 🙂

It’s only $20 for all of your quickie workout videos, a personal trainer who you can ask questions here, plus my awesome community of kick-butt marketers sweating with you and cheering you on.

Let’s find 10 minutes every day to get healthier so we can enjoy the LIFESTYLE that we’re working towards.
((hugs)) to all.

September 18, 2009 at 4:51 am100 squats done at 6:45 am WITH weights. 😉
Nicole
September 18, 2009 at 4:52 amGo Traci! I’m still waking up, guy. It’s gonna be a looooong day! lol.
Lisa Marie Mary
September 18, 2009 at 4:50 amSigning in with 102 squats! 🙂
Nicole
September 18, 2009 at 4:51 amWoot!
Nicole
September 18, 2009 at 4:51 amClarification: You can use weights, but they don’t count as doing any more squats than the rest of us. So don’t go saying “I did 100, but with 15 lb weights” because it still counts for 100. 😉 That was my reasoning there.
Mom said she’d be doing 200 today. Will she be our big winner?! Go mom!!!

September 18, 2009 at 7:53 amMy twitter stream is full of tweets from all of you, each of which has totally brightened my day.
You all ROCK!
Nicole. I knew this would be fun… but never did I imagine it would be this much fun.
See… fitness really can be fun. When you create a positive atmosphere with support and camaraderie, it sure can take your mind off of they typical train of thought that, “I’ve got to do this to lose weight.”
It’s this type of thing that leads to creating a long term healthy lifestyle.
I love you all.
Angela Wills
September 18, 2009 at 7:02 amHoly moly! I’m checking in with 0 squats, lol.
Just had to comment that I can’t believe there are two people at 100 already. You ladies are Serious. Way to go team computer butt!
I think I’m going to opt-out of the contest though, I started doing some squats today and my knee started making noise (which it sometimes does and it means that bone is rubbing against kneecap so I think I should take it easy today).
You can do it!!
Scott Tousignant - Fat Loss Quickie
September 18, 2009 at 7:56 amGood job listening to your body Angela. If you were to ignore your body it could lead to several days off from your quickie workouts.
Mighty proud of you!
I usually have one day a month where my knee just does keeps popping out of place. I know that’s a definite day off for me.
Listening to your body is key. It shows that you are applying one of the key strategies of the Fat Loss Quickie lifestyle… Awareness!
Thanks for cheering us on.
Judi
September 18, 2009 at 7:11 amOuch! Take it easy on those knees! My hubby is recovery from knee surgery so don’t go there, its no fun. Your doing great as a cheerleader!
Lisa Marie Mary
September 18, 2009 at 7:42 amOh man, Angela – I’m so sorry. Wish you could do a substitute exercise…
Thanks for cheering us on, though!!

September 18, 2009 at 7:12 amFirst let me say I can’t believe I am up before 7 and second I can’t believe I am up before 7. Wow need more coffee, but I have done 120 squats, I don’t have to win to be so amazed at myself, I mean really, I was up before 7 🙂
Traci Knoppe
September 18, 2009 at 7:19 amLOL Judi! Way to go on 120 squats!!
Lisa Marie Mary
September 18, 2009 at 7:54 amWow – you go, Judi!!!
Susanne Myers
September 18, 2009 at 7:55 amChecking in with 150 squats … and boy are my legs shaking.
Quick tip, do your squats next to a chair or the couch. As you start to get a little wobbly, keep one finger on the back of the chair or couch for balance. No cheating though, you can’t use your hands to help pull you back up 🙂
Kevin "Mr Ebay" Johnson
September 18, 2009 at 10:15 amJust finished my Quickie workout and squats… 275 squats with weights!!!!!

September 18, 2009 at 10:54 amGood morning!
Great shoulders workout :D.
I got 85 squats in before a rest and I’m up to 120 now. Guess the practice this week paid off.

The Mom
September 18, 2009 at 12:59 pmEEEK!!! KEVIN!!! Stop it, right now! 😉
Hey, does age count for anything here? 😮
As Nicole will attest, I am not really a morning person… sort of live the life of a second-shift worker, ya know?
With that said, I DO have my FIRST 100 squats in now. My next 100 squats will be coming up. I have my good shoes on (my lucky marathon shoes… yes MARATHON shoes) so I can jump up any time I feel like it and do some more squats. Ha! Take that!
Hey, Susanne, cool prize! I love the freezer cooking book! Spend one day cooking and use all that spare time each night to do another Quickie. Very thoughtful! 🙂
See ya back here after my next 100! And give some thought to that whole “give a break to the ol’ lady doin’ squats” thing, okay? 😉
Nicole
September 18, 2009 at 1:27 pmNo rest for the wicked – as my mom taught me. 🙂
Erica Cosminsky
September 18, 2009 at 1:20 pmI’ve gotten 60 more in so I’m up to 180 and my legs are burning. I’m not giving up yet but I may be spent.

September 18, 2009 at 2:02 pmWay to go … 🙂
Erica Cosminsky
September 18, 2009 at 2:14 pmYeah I’m seriously like confused. I keep getting up to do something and I’m like Ah, I can do a few more.
I’ve actually done about 25 more. I may have to keep this 10-15 at a time thing up for a while.
Pretty sure I’m actually shot for today. I’m getting weak kneed now.
Nicole
September 18, 2009 at 1:26 pmAt 200 squats & my 12-year old is at 201 (just to beat me!)
About to do my regular quickie workout while I still can! lol.
Susanne Myers
September 18, 2009 at 2:04 pmWohooo… way to go Nik and Mason.
I hear ya on the regular workout, better go do mine as well while I can still move (sorta).
Susanne Myers
September 18, 2009 at 12:46 pmI’m up to 250 right now… my legs are turning into noodles and I’m going to have to stop for now or I won’t be able to walk up the hill to pick my daughter up from school.
I have a feeling I won’t be able to walk at all tomorrow
Nicole
September 18, 2009 at 1:31 pmThat’s more than you thought you’d be able to do. I knew you had more in you! 🙂
Susanne Myers
September 18, 2009 at 2:01 pmSure is… my competitive spirit is kicking in 🙂
The walk up to the school was “interesting”. I wasn’t completely sure I’d make it my legs were so wobbly. I guess that’s how a 1 year old feels when he’s starting to walk.
Not sure I have any more squats in me but am going to give it another try later this afternoon.
Judi
September 18, 2009 at 1:36 pmWow I take a break and you all are just “squating maniacs!” Way to go!
I am up to 220, oh yeah and I still need to do my work out too!
Kevin "Mr Ebay" Johnson
September 18, 2009 at 3:07 pmjust added 10 more squats….

September 18, 2009 at 7:54 pmSo, I’m curious how many people are NOT on EST time! 🙂

Arika
September 18, 2009 at 6:01 pmHello Hello Everyone! 🙂 WOW I can’t believe it – ya’ll are rockin’ the socks off this squat challenge! Keep it up.
Now, I debated on posting my total yet – as you can see I’ve been MIA today here….but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been doing my squats!
351
And I’m not done! 🙂
LaTara Ham-Ying
September 18, 2009 at 5:10 pmI am impressed. I did a total of 140 today. I will catch up to the leaders next time 🙂
Judi
September 18, 2009 at 5:16 pmYou still have time … though I don’t think I can do anymore, I have rubber legs!
Joel
September 18, 2009 at 5:24 pmWell, I guess I’m coming a bit late to this challenge, as today was my first Friday of FLQ.. my first experience with doing proper squats 🙂
Do the 100 count that Scott has us do, or are these to be added on top?
If they count, then I’m at 120 so far.
Joel
Nicole
September 18, 2009 at 5:28 pmThey sure do count! You’re on the board. 🙂
The Mom
September 18, 2009 at 6:25 pmOkay you young whipper snappers you… now that I’ve done my part to fan the flames of competition a bit, I’m backing off. The last 25 just about did me in! 😉
I’m thinking, hey, it’s Friday, Nicole’s got some cooking programs tivo’d for me, and I hear a bottle of wine calling my name.
Thanks for the xoxoxoxox’s and support Scott and ya’ll! The Mom is calling it a day.
Carry on!
Erica Cosminsky
September 18, 2009 at 7:03 pmYou are so awesome. I have to get on the ball if I’m going to keep up with you. 😀
Arika
September 18, 2009 at 7:11 pmAHHH Come on Mom – you KNOW you wanna do another 27! 🙂
But, hey if you want to call it a night – go for it…I’ve still got some left in me! 😉
Joel
September 18, 2009 at 6:43 pmYOU can do it Mom!
You still have several hours (if we are going by this blogs time). Wait an hour or so and do another 50!
Nicole
September 18, 2009 at 6:36 pmNext week, I’m thinking we do this again, but have it somehow also benefit charity (in addition to fun prizes).
Thoughts? I could pay out per squat? 😀
Joel
September 18, 2009 at 6:40 pmHow about…
We set a goal now for next week, and for each squat we DON’T do, we give $1 to charity?
Or maybe a group challenge, we all in total do 2,000, or 3k, 5k, and if we don’t… something happens.
Arika
September 18, 2009 at 7:53 pmI kinda like that idea – set a group goal and pay for everyone we don’t get – the only thing is I know we are all overachievers so we’ll beat any number we set I think.
So, how about we do what Joel suggested, and WHEN we go over it we pay X amount for the number of squats we go over too! 🙂
Tracey Johnson
September 18, 2009 at 6:15 pmToday is my first day. Did Fat Loss Quickie 10 minute shuffle cardio OMG, then 60 squats. My legs, thights and butt are so feeling the burn, even my lower back is feeling it. It feels good.
Joel
September 18, 2009 at 6:17 pmWow… everyone keeps going bigger and bigger. It looks like we will have to do 500 or so… but now that I said that, maybe 1,000. 🙂
Since I didn’t start till about 4pm today, I think I will squatting till midnight none stop.
Nicole
September 18, 2009 at 6:32 pmDo I sense a competitive spirit in you, my friend? We may need to carry that awesome drive into a business challenge. 🙂
Kevin "Mr Ebay" Johnson
September 18, 2009 at 7:27 pmJust finished 100 more squats!!!!! GO TEAM GO!!!
Arika
September 18, 2009 at 7:48 pmWOOT WOOT! Kevin you are my hero! 🙂 I missed something somewhere because I didn’t realize you were approaching 500. I counted 435, is that right?
Arika
September 18, 2009 at 8:04 pmGive me another 50 for a total of 401!
Arika
September 18, 2009 at 8:30 pmAh come on ladies – we can’t let these guys win! 🙂

Arika
September 18, 2009 at 9:21 pmOk add another 100 for me and I’m finished for the night. (Total 501)
Great job everyone! We should all be very proud of ourselves!
Joel
September 18, 2009 at 9:23 pmCongrats, 500 is amazing!
Joel
September 18, 2009 at 8:25 pmIs anyone else walking funny? My legs don’t want to work that well 🙂
I’m at 520 squats… so far.
Arika
September 18, 2009 at 8:40 pmThat’s a sign you need to stop and let me win! 😉
Wow – 520 you are so gonna feel that in the AM.
Scott Tousignant - Fat Loss Quickie
September 18, 2009 at 9:25 pmHere’s an idea…
For those of you who are up to it… Maybe we could do a 12 hour Squat-a-thon on LiveStream.
We could embed the video code on the blog and could even have 2-3 FLQ members going each hour if there’s enough members up for it.
We would just have to provide our channel’s embed code for Nicole to put on the blog.
So it would require you to have the ability to video record yourself live.
We could have a donation button next to the video and for every $1 donated that person has to do 1 squat.
I did 100 squats with 45 pounds in less than 6 minutes… so in 6 minutes a charity would have received $100
The good thing about this is that outsiders could help us raise money… and it may just draw people into the Computer Butt Challenge.
I think it would be nice that the person who is doing the squatting for the hour have their affiliate link for FLQ under the video broadcast.
What do ya think about that? Who would be up for putting themselves on live video…. I sure would even if it’s for 12 hours straight 😉
Joel
September 18, 2009 at 10:32 pmI didn’t think my legs could hurt any more than what they were… I was wrong.
I did another 100 with light weights this time, for a total of 620 squats.
Nicole
September 19, 2009 at 10:13 amIs this the final tally? I think I counted them all.
Joel = 620
Arika = 501
Kevin = 435
My Mom = 350
Judi = 310
Susanne = 286
Me = 260
My Son = 231
Erica = 180
Lisa Marie = 170
Traci = 100
Grand total of … 3443 Squats!
AMAZING!!!
The Mom
September 19, 2009 at 11:13 amYippee Arika, Joel and Kevin! And look who came in 4th….. hmmmmmmmmmm??? 😉
I got to Nicole’s house last night and my grandson started doing a few more squats so I had to do more too. What could I do, let him show me up? But, yikes, are my legs stiff this morning! Ah, but it sure feels good! How are you all feeling???
Lisa Marie Mary
September 19, 2009 at 11:32 amAw man, I got a fever/sore throat and of course a migraine, and went to an away football game in the pouring/thunder-filled rain. So I was down for the count. I’m going to say, though – I think I’m grateful for the fever/sore throat/migraine – cuz as it is I can barely, and I do mean barely sit down on the toilet!!!!!!! hahaha!
Two days of shufflin’ with Scott and then Fri filled with squats – man! I’m a goner!
And I will remind you all, once again – that my house has TWO sets of stairs – and because, of the weird layout of the house – both must be taken multiple times a day! LOL!!
Good gravy!
Was kind of embarrassing in the ladies room at the other teams’ field – I’d be moaning and groaning in my stall! I’m sure there were some cheerleaders and whatnot giggling hysterically at me! Ha!
Tracey Johnson
September 21, 2009 at 7:48 pmcoming in today with 80 squats in a row
