Motivational Monday: Father & Son Ironmen
It's time for another Motivational Monday.
I could have sworn that I've already posted this, but I couldn't find it. Even if I did, it's worth posting twice. Heck, I could post it weekly and I know it would help us all. It's that good.
When I'm feeling lazy, like not working, or that something is “too hard” – this is the video clip that I pull out to give myself a mental slap. 🙂
This is the video that I watch when I want to hide in my office instead of spending time with my kids when they're being difficult.
It's the video that I watch when I need to exercise and am making excuses – like my knees hurt or I don't feel like it.
I hope it touches your heart as it does mine.
I love this line. In this video, the father says “I just want to be the very best father I can be.”
Don't try to achieve the “same” as everyone else. Be remarkable. You already have it inside you. It just takes a little work to release it and show it to the world.
I'm off to hug my family. 🙂
Warmest wishes,
Nicole

December 14, 2009 at 2:18 pmHey Nicole,
This was a very touching video.
I am waiting on a video right now that I had planned to post to my blog with a very similar theme. You may recall that my brother has cerebral palsy. I agree that this message should remind us everyday about the excuses we make when we are so fortunate.
Thanks for everything you do.

December 14, 2009 at 1:47 pmI was blessed with the viewing of this video in a different version about a year ago. I cried then and I cried today and couldn’t agree with more about it worth a weekly posting.
Thanks Nicole for the mental slap as it couldn’t have come at a more opportune time for me.

December 15, 2009 at 10:52 amI can only imagine how much better off we all would be if they played this video on television every day to remind of how blessed we are and how much more we can give to those we love.
Rick stated, “When I’m running, it feels like my disability disappears!” I immediately correlated that with learning internet and affiliate marketing. You tend to feel disadvantaged at first. You feel like you’ll never get it — you feel like a slow learner. But if you take action and just run with it, you will feel more empowered, less disadvantaged, and more capable.
Having good coaches and mentors to help you along the way, like yourself, Lynn Terry, Jimmy D. Brown, Steve Weber, etc. really makes me want to experience the thrill of the race.
Nicole, this video has been a great motivator today because it reminds me that “anything is possible”. Thanks for sharing.
