How Do I Convert a Word Document into a PDF Free?
Hey guys and gals!
One of the questions I get a lot is about how to convert a word document into a pdf file, free?
Why would you want to do this? There are several reasons.
1. You want to convert some of your articles into a free report to grow your list.
2. You've written an ebook, but don't know how to convert the Word version of the document into a pdf so that you can sell it.
3. You've bought PLR and want to turn it into pdf format to send as gifts to your lists.
4. You'd like to participate in a JV giveaway, but can't figure out how to create a report.
And, those are just a few of the reasons why this is important. 🙂
It's easy and it's free. And, I show you how to do it in this video below.
How to Convert any Word Document into a .pdf file.
In this video, I'll show you how to take a report or package of articles from EasyPLR.com, add your Amazon affiliate links to it, and then convert it into a pdf.
What do you do with the pdf once it's ready?
Well, that depends…
You can link directly to it from a blog post. Here's how to do that. (Old video, but good info.)
Or, if you have Dreamweaver, you can do it like this:
Of course, you can also use Amazon S3, which I love. If you need help with that, let me know. I believe I have a video somewhere that I recorded for a course that I can dig back up. 🙂
Update: Got a request for info on Amazon S3. I'm headed off on vacation, so I found this tutorial which showcases the tool that I use. Let me know if you'd like more training and I can find mine when I get back. 🙂
I hope that helps!
Warmly,

February 10, 2011 at 12:55 pmThanks Nicole. Took me “forever” to realize that it was no longer necessary to use an Adobe product to actually generate a pdf. I think it was when I got an update to my Microsoft Office package and I realized I could “save as” a document and select “pdf”.
Talk about making life easier! I felt like I was the last to know!
Love your websites and valuable training!

February 10, 2011 at 6:25 pmThanks so much for the very descriptive video. I have always had a problem with trying to upload any work to a site. This is about as simple as anyone could make it.
Keep up the excellent work..

February 11, 2011 at 9:55 amHey Nicole, I just found your site from you and Pat Flynn’s podcast! Great work and story! I’d love to be able to have a chat with you about your back linking strategies that help you get to the top rankings, as I’m following Pat’s back linking strategy that worked for him end of last year.
Nonetheless, cheers to your success!

February 12, 2011 at 10:13 amPat’s awesome. Brilliant marketer. 🙂
My backlinking strategy is to spread quality content all over the net – as in getting on podcast interviews, posting youtube videos, etc. That’s the short version. Of course I do more, but try to spread my name far and wide, and associate it with quality and value — and hope people like you come find me through that effort.
Come back soon!
Warmly,

Great tips here! I’ve used Google Docs and converting them to PDF. It can be a bit slow but it’s easy to use. What are your thoughts?

March 2, 2011 at 12:50 pmThanks Nicole. Don’t forget that open office is free and will do the conversions for you. It also helps your links working properly within the pdf as some converters have a hard time with links. There are a few other add ons for office that will convert to pdf as well. Most of the free ones just show you an ad for a few seconds before they do the conversion.

March 19, 2011 at 8:39 amThe best and easiest to use PDF creator is the Open Office Writer.
Just like use it similar to a MS Word Document and then by just click of a button, you can convert it to PDF file.
It’s totally free, and is really great. I have used this tons of times already. In fact, I used to encode my files using this document writer so that if I ever needed to convert it to PDF, I can do it without a hassle.
