Successful Affiliates Do This
Did you know that one of the common trends among very successful affiliate marketers is that they purchase domain names – for EACH major affiliate program they promote? It’s true.
If you are committed to promoting a certain affiliate program, then you may consider purchasing your own domain for that purpose. There are no hosting fees, only a small one-time fee through the domain registry to set up this type of forwarded domain.
How would this benefit you?
People will take you more seriously if you ask them to visit a “real” domain rather than one that looks like a long mish-mash affiliate link.
If you mask the domain (and I’ll show you how), then everyone who goes to that site will see YOUR url at the top of the page (where you’d type a link).
For instance, I am promoting the new DineWithoutWhine Family Video. My affiliate link is –
http://www.dinewithoutwhine.com/amember/go.php?r=391&l=uggc%3A%2F%2Fjjj.snzvylqvaareivqrb.pbz
Instead, I chose to purchase this domain for it – DinnerTimeVideo.com
Which looks more professional?
There is another added benefit when you mask the domain. If I send the video to Jane and she wants to share the video, I'll still get credit for all the sales when her friends buy DineWithoutWhine memberships. And, when her friends forward the video, I'll get credit for those sales as well. — because they'll keep sending my DinnerTimeVideo.com link.
So, how do you proceed?
I put together two audios for training the affiliates of DineWithoutWhine — to walk them through the process of buying a domain and forwarding it. I thought I'd share them here with you, as well. (So, excuse the parts that talk specifically about DineWithoutWhine — and apply them to whatever affiliate program you wish to promote.)
Here’s how to buy a domain –
Go to GoDaddy.com .
Then, come back and click on this audio where I walk you through the process of buying a domain.

Once you buy your domain, then listen to this audio to learn how to easily forward it in under 4 minutes – http://www.audioacrobat.com/play/WFCQrKgs

I keep the nameservers set to the default parked servers, right?

Just a quick question. It this method against the terms of service of the affiliate programs?

Nope. They love it since I bring them lots of money, leads and exposure that they wouldn’t get otherwise. If they want to get rid of one of their top affiliates, I can always use the strategy with their competition. 😉
The good affiliate programs are usually very easy to work with. Those that aren’t, I usually leave pretty quickly.
Just my 2 cents.
