I wish it was taught in schools. Since it isn’t, I’m teaching my kids to become entrepreneurs. My son already has a blog and every time he starts to ask me for something he now stops and says “Wait. I meant… how can I EARN the money to get that?” 😉

If they choose to have a career where they work for someone else, that’s fine. I just want them to know they have options — something I never understood.

I have to agree with you Patti, it is hard to “get to the passive income” stuff sometime. I have a long list of “to do” ideas there!

How long have you been telling me about the two-pronged approach??? Yes, it took a long, long time to get to this point, but it’s working now.

I do have trouble spending time away from my “paid” job (VA/writer) to do stuff for passive income, but I’m trying. And even though it takes work to make this passive income, it doesn’t take as much work once the product is done and promoted. What’s cool is I wake up each morning with more money in my account.

So, yes, I agree. And I now make a comfortable living working at home and I’m able to boost my income when I want to or need to by just making a few calls for more work, or if I want to I can produce another product. (Nik goes “gulp.”) tee hee

The ladies hit on most of the ways to earn more money. There are about 8 ways anyone can increase their income, starting with little or nothing. I know this because I wrote a book on the topic, “Stop Living Paycheck to Paycheck” (shameless plug:-). In it I detailed 8 different ways, all based on my own past experiences.

What’s more important, however, is that you develop the mind-set that you can, in fact, increase your income. That’s where people get stuck. They “believe” there’s nothing they can do about it. Change your thinking and you’ll change your life.

Unfortunately, this is not taught in school. When someone changes their conversation from “How am I going to pay the bills?” to something like, “What can I do to add $200 or more to my monthly income?” they get different results.

For fast cash, I like the ebay model. It can be grown into a significant business if one desires. Flea markets are sill tried and true. Find a product you love, buy it wholesale and resell it. It’s not complicated.

My advice? Do something!
