This week, I have the amazing Willie Crawford, with me.

Yes, that Willie Crawford. The very same Willie Crawford who is an icon in the internet marketing world. I've admired Willie from afar for many years and have recently had the opportunity to get to know him and his beautiful wife better at live internet marketing events like his 50th Birthday Bash. We're actually neighbors and live only 30 minutes apart. (Lucky me!)

In the beginning of this interview, I was giggling like crazy because I was so nervous! But, then I got into my groove. I even got a scoop — Willie shared a tidbit that has never been shared in any interview – ever.  And, it's something handy to know in case you ever get lost in the woods with him.

Willie Crawford was raised on a tobacco farm in North Carolina, living off welfare most of his youth. His family was so poor that he once wore his grandmother’s shoes to school while working to earn money to replace his only dilapidated pair. This built a burning desire in Willie to break away from the poverty and build his own business.

Obviously it worked. Now Willie Crawford is a corporate president, published author, seminar speaker and host, tele-seminar speaker and host, retired military officer, karate black belt, network marketing trainer, and lifetime student of marketing. In addition he has written and published a best-selling cookbook, Soul Food Recipes Learned On a North Carolina Tobacco Farm, and a best-selling inspirational biography, Git Off The Porch.

Willie is now one of the world’s leading internet marketing experts, having spoken at dozens of seminars in the United States, Malaysia, Singapore and the U.K.

Willie has created dozens of information products, written over 1300 articles and 50 ebooks on ecommerce. He’s hosted seminars, and now hosts his own radio show several times per week.

Willie also does a lot of group mentoring at The Internet Marketing Inner Circle.

When Willie is not busy teaching ecommerce online via The Internet Marketing Inner Circle, or teaching local businesses to use the internet to drive more business through their doors, he enjoys deep sea fishing in The Gulf of Mexico… not too far from his Florida home.

Dan Thies, former Dean of Faculty for StomperNet, has been a heavy hitter in the SEO world for a long time now, and he's respected among his peers as THE keyword guru.

He has been helping his clients (and friends) promote their businesses online since Netscape was a start-up. He is the author and publisher of the top-selling e-book “Search Engine Optimization Fast Start,” now in its 4th edition. Dan launched SEO Research Labs in early 2003, following numerous requests from readers for keyword research services.

That's the most recent bio I could find and it sure doesn't do him justice. He's freaking brilliant, super funny, and a link building mad-man.  Plus, unlike many SEO guys I've met, he's focused on building a quality business, not just gaming the search engines. He makes so much sense. In fact, he is referred to as the “White Hat Black Belt”.

If you're just learning about SEO, white hat means that you do things according to the rules. Black hat – means not so much. (A cute take on the Wild West.) And, much like in the Westerns, the bad guys may run off with a big ole bag of cash, but it's not too long until the Good Guys win.

That's my take on it, anyway. I'm a White Hat girl. I'll gamble on the Nickel Slots, but not in my business.

I think I say this every week, but this is another of my favorite interviews. I just love having the opportunity to talk with smart people so frequently. It's a dream come true! And, Dan is one of my heroes from several years back. Although he probably doesn't know it, a lot of my interest in SEO came from hearing him speak a few years ago.

I've hung with Mark and his beautiful bride, Heidi, on several occasions. The first time, I met Mark, it was very quick and I wasn't quite sure what I thought of him.
