Well, I came home today to a fun surprise…. Lynn Terry spotted my cross-blog conversation with Kelly McCausey and posted about it today on her blog.

AND… she wants to play, too!

Sounds fun to me. I'm game. So, here's her question…

-> I’m curious what you do when you’re not online blogging, emailing your lists, working on your websites – and managing your online business, in general. What’s your personal life like, behind the scenes? As in, how do you spend your free time and what are your favorite things to get into?

And, my answer…

Hi Lynn! So nice to finally meet you. We've run in the same circles for ages, but haven't yet had the good fortune to connect.

Hmm… you want to know more about me? Well, I'm the type of person who will try pretty much anything once, and if I like it I'll do it again. Now that being said, I'm not a big fan of things that risk my life (and I very much tend to avoid them), but am willing to be totally humiliated in public just for fun.

Some things I do in my spare time?

Well, I love bike riding. (You know, the kind you pedal with your own feet?) In fact, after I write this, I plan to hop on my bike and whiz around the neighborhood a few times. Maybe it's a childish memory relived, but I just love the freedom of riding my bike.

I'm also in the process of joining the local hiking club. I'm *quite* scared of running into snakes, but I'm going to go for it. Where I grew up, we didn't have poisonous snakes, so I'm not too sure about this hiking in Florida thing, but… I'm up for the adventure. I guess I'll be the youngest member, since the current youngest member is 45. I figure the rest are older and wiser (especially about snakes), so I need to just suck it up, follow their lead, and enjoy the adventure! (Hope I can keep up with them!)

I'm a Girl Scout leader, too. I lived at a Girl Scout camp as a summer job in college, and I just love the outdoors, so it's a natural step that I'd continue to give my daughter the experience. (Speaking of publicly humiliating myself, you should hear me sing for these girls. OUCH.)

I took belly dancing classes for a year, so I oftentimes, sneak on my coin belt when no one is looking and I try to remember my lessons. My 6 year old daughter will dance with my while my husband and son just avoid looking at the train wreck that is my dancing.

I also love kayaking and canoing (but only on lakes, nothing “extreme” for me).

I love reading books. I'm a huge fan of time travel romances. (You know, the ones where a girl like me gets transported back to a HUGE castle and falls in love with the laird or some knight guy? Of course, I always block the thought of not having flushing toilets, microwaves, and antibiotics from my mind while I envision the story.) For some reason, those are more fun for me than regular novels, and I've always loved them. However, I'm also a huge geek and love reading Internet Marketing courses so I devour them as quickly as I get them. (I know it's dorky, but I just love it.)

Hmm… what else? I love spending time with my husband. I'm one of those people who just flat-out likes her hubby. He's my favorite person on earth, so I'm extremely thankful to have him. (He's a high school teacher & football coach, and there's no bigger thrill than watching him march those boys into battle on the grid iron. lol.)

I'm in the process of getting my passport so that hubby and I can start to travel more. After reading the Four Hour Workweek, I got motivated to make it happen somehow. We're hoping to visit Italy first. So, the first step is getting a passport. Then, I'll figure out the logistics of where to go and where to stay next.

My mom lives close to me. (Only 4 miles away.) We used to be 2000 miles apart, so we're spending much time together, drinking wine, learning Italian, and walking often.

The things I avoid like the plague are the mall and house work.

Bored yet?

Let me ask you a question… (but first, tell me a bit about your personal life, too).

The question is…

What is the one thing that you wish you'd learned or applied sooner in your business? Maybe something you knew, but didn't act upon until later and then wished you had.

Looking forward to your reply,
Nicole
